The basic principle of wet shotcrete is to send the mixed concrete into the wet shotcrete machine, mix it with compressed air at the nozzle and the atomizing accelerator that is pressed from the metering pump to the nozzle to form a material bundle, and spray it onto the sprayed surface. Dry shotcrete involves mixing cement, aggregates, and accelerator in proportion, and then using compressed air to pass the material through a hose and add water at the nozzle to form a material bundle, which is then pushed to the sprayed working surface at high speed. Wet shotcrete involves adding water (with a moisture content of no more than 8% for sand and no more than 4% for stone) to the sand and gravel pile in advance and mixing it with cement. When adding the shotcrete machine, the accelerator is added, and compressed air is used to pass the material through the hose. The material bundle formed by the nozzle is pushed at high speed to the sprayed working surface.
1. The mix ratio is completely under control, ensuring the quality of the sprayed concrete. The quality of dry and wet sprayed concrete is difficult to control, especially the water cement ratio of concrete is arbitrary, which is adjusted by the sprayer based on experience and visual inspection. The quality of concrete largely depends on the correctness of the sprayer's operation.
2. The rebound rate is low and can effectively control costs. The rebound rate of dry and wet spraying can reach 35% -45%, while the rebound rate of wet spraying is about 15%. Therefore, the production cost of wet spraying is low and the benefits are high.
3. The dust concentration during construction is low. The dust concentration near the wet spray nozzle is 60mg/m ³. The dust concentration near the dry spray nozzle is higher than that near the wet spray nozzle, while the dust concentration near the wet spray nozzle is lower than that near the wet spray nozzle. During shotcrete construction, low visibility inside the tunnel is often caused by dust concentration and other factors, which objectively leads operators to only focus on the quantity of shotcrete and neglect the quality of shotcrete, resulting in unstable quality of shotcrete and significant waste.
4. High productivity: Dry concrete spraying machines generally do not exceed 5m ³/h. When using a wet concrete spraying machine, the manual operation can reach 7-9 m ³/h, and when using a spraying robot, it can reach 15-18 m ³/h, which is 2-3 times higher than other spraying methods.
5. The dry spray machine has a simple structure, small volume, and convenient cleaning, but the wear of the bonding plate is large. The wet spray machine has a complex structure and a large volume, requiring a large amount of power equipment for traction, but the wear of the bonding plate is small.
The above factors deserve our high attention. The quality and production efficiency of sprayed concrete are important factors that directly affect the construction progress, engineering quality, and economic benefits of tunnels
